Tesla raises Cybertruck prices in the U.S. – will Canada follow?

Tesla has taken the unusual step of raising Cybertruck prices in the United States, despite the electric pickup continuing to struggle with sales.

North of the border Canadian pricing has remained unchanged, at least for now.

Cybertruck prices climb $5,000

According to an update to Tesla’s online configurator in the U.S. on Monday night, the Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive (AWD) variant is now priced at $74,990, while the Premium AWD variant is now $84,990. Both variants are now $5,000 more than they were before.

Another price hike for entry-level Cybertruck AWD

This is the first price adjustment to the Cybertruck since March. That was when Tesla raised the price of, what was at the time, the brand new AWD variant. It was initially priced at $59,990, but the massive response from buyers prompted Elon Musk to announce they were likely going to increase the price because of demand.

Tesla followed through and on February 28, nine days after the truck debuted, raised its price by $10,000. That means paired with today’s price increase, this Cybertruck variant is now $15,000 more than it was in February.

Cybertruck sales remain weak

What makes these price increases difficult to understand is how Tesla has struggled to sell Cybertrucks in meaningful volumes. According to its Q2 2026 delivery figures, Tesla sold just 12,364 vehicles in its “Other Models” category, which at the time still included the Model S and Model X alongside the Cybertruck.

That puts Cybertruck deliveries at only a fraction of that already modest total. Current estimates point to around 15,000 deliveries for all of 2026, while installed production capacity at Giga Texas is more than 125,000 units per year, suggesting the line is running at little more than 10% of its capacity.

What about Canada?

Cybertruck pricing in Canada was unchanged on Monday, and that’s party because pricing north of the border is a little more complicated. Currently the Cybertruck is only built in Texas, meaning it is imported from the U.S., which attracts tariffs that have artificially inflated prices to as much as $167,990 for the Cyberbeast.

With trade negotiations breaking down in recent days and the threat of additional tariffs of as much as 50%, it would not be surprising to see Cybertruck prices in Canada increased even further in the coming weeks.

But based on current Cybertruck sales volumes in Canada, it would also not be surprising to see Tesla pull the Cybertruck from the Canadian market entirely until the tariff situation is resolved.
