Tesla is officially celebrating the opening of Canada’s largest Supercharger station with a grand opening event next week in Ajax, Ontario.
While the 44-stall charging station quietly opened to drivers earlier this month, Tesla is now giving the site an official launch celebration, offering owners and prospective buyers an opportunity to learn more about the company’s vehicles and charging ecosystem.
The event will take place on Friday, July 10, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., at what the company calls the RioCan Durham Centre Supercharger, located at 40 Kingston Road East.
According to Tesla, advisors will be on site during the event to answer questions about charging, vehicle ownership, incentives, and the overall Tesla ownership experience.
The company is also promising refreshments for attendees as part of the celebration.
Tesla says space for the event is limited and is encouraging anyone interested in attending to submit their RSVP as soon as possible.
A Long Road to Opening
While also the largest, the Ajax Supercharger had a lengthy construction timeline. Construction first began in May 2025, with the project expected to open in early 2026. However, despite the site being physically completed for months, energization delays pushed back the opening date significantly.
The delays were attributed to local utility work, leading to frustration among Tesla owners in the Greater Toronto Area who watched Canada’s future largest Supercharger sit completed but inaccessible.
A New Canadian Charging Record
With 44 Supercharger stalls capable of delivering up to 325kW, the Ajax location now holds the title of the largest Supercharger station in Canada, overtaking the 40-stall Richmond, British Columbia location that opened in 2023 and previously held the record.
