SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet service has reached another major milestone, officially announcing that it now serves more than 12 million active customers around the world.
In a post on X, Starlink said it is now “connecting more than 12M active customers with high-speed internet across 160+ countries, territories and many other markets,” while thanking customers for supporting the network’s growth.
The latest milestone represents a significant acceleration in Starlink’s adoption. The service surpassed 10 million active customers in February, meaning SpaceX has added more than 2 million new customers in just a few months.
Based on the latest figures, Starlink has been adding an average of nearly 28,000 new subscribers per day, setting a new growth record for the satellite internet provider and continuing the trend of increasingly rapid customer adoption.
That growth rate eclipses Starlink’s previous records. When the company reached 9 million subscribers last December, it was adding approximately 21,000 customers per day. Earlier milestones saw growth rates in the range of 14,000 to 19,000 daily additions.

Growth Continues Across Residential and Mobile Markets
While Starlink first gained traction as a solution for rural and underserved communities, its customer base has expanded well beyond traditional residential users. The service is now widely deployed on commercial aircraft, cruise ships, cargo vessels, emergency response vehicles, and recreational vehicles.
Airlines around the world continue adopting Starlink-powered in-flight Wi-Fi, while telecommunications partnerships are enabling satellite-based mobile connectivity and emergency services in areas without cellular coverage. These new markets have helped fuel subscriber growth while reducing Starlink’s reliance on any single customer segment.
The company’s global footprint has also expanded considerably. Starlink is now available in more than 160 countries and territories, up from just over 150 markets less than a year ago.
