NIO sales increase to nearly 10,000 units in January 2022

China’s NIO has reported another strong month of sales for January 2022.

According to the EV automaker, a total of 9,652 vehicles were delivered to new owners last month.

That figure represents a 33.6% increase compared to January 2021, and an increase of just over 600% compared to the same time period in 2020.

Broken down by model, the lion’s share went to the ES6. The five-seater electric SUV registered 5,247 sales, followed by the EC6 and ES8 with 2,874 and 1,531 units respectively.

Since its inception, NIO has now delivered 176,722 vehicles.

NIO also provided an update on their power, sales and service network.

As of January 31, 2022, NIO has built 836 Power Swap stations, 3,766 Power Chargers and 3,656 destination chargers, and opened 42 NIO Houses, 341 NIO Spaces, 55 NIO Service Centers and 180 authorized service centers across China.

Additionally, the automaker released its first software update specifically for owners outside of China. Aspen 3.0.5 NO was developed exclusively for Norway, and is based on the NIO Technology Platform 1.0 (NT1.0).
