Lucid Air Dream Edition hits 500 miles in 70-mph range test

The Lucid Air Dream Edition dominated in the latest InsideEVs 70-mph range test.

The previous leader in the 70-mph test was the 2021 Tesla Model 3 with its 310-mile result; the Lucid Air Dream was going to pass this; the only question was by how much.

Although there were some scheduling issues, Lucid provided InsideEVs with a Lucid Air Dream Edition Range with 19” Aero wheels.

The EPA certified range is 520 miles per charge.

InsideEVs tested the vehicle on a crisp Arizona morning which started at 10.5 degrees Celsius but did warm up to 20.5 degrees Celsius by the end of the test.

The car was set on “smooth” driving mode, the climate control to 68 degrees and adaptive cruise to 72 mph to arrive at an actual 70-mph test.

The Air’s range was pretty dang consistent. The first 25 per cent of the battery netted 120 miles. In comparison, the other quarter of the batteries netted 128, 126 and 126 miles, respectively.

With an estimated .25 kWh of battery left, the total trip was 500 miles on the dot.

The 2022 Lucid Air Dream Edition Range shattered the competition. The vehicle beast the 2021 Tesla Model 3 Long Range AWD by 190 miles. You can check out all the InsideEVs 70-mph results, and the video, below.
