Hopes for Tesla store in Halifax, Nova Scotia reignite with new job posting

In October last year Tesla fans in Nova Scotia were hopeful the automaker would soon be opening a physical location in the province following two job postings looking for a sales advisor and service technician.

Despite the job postings, there has been no word of a Tesla Sales, Service and Delivery Center opening in the nearly 10 months since they were first published.

Those hopes have been reignited with a new job posting published to Tesla’s Careers website this weekend. The company is seeking a part-time Tesla Advisor in Dartmouth.

Halifax job posting

According to the posting (ID 98498), a Tesla Advisor will “support customers from the moment they walk into our showrooms to learn about Tesla through to their delivery day experience.” Among the responsibilities for the successful candidates include to “engage walk in guests”, as well as “prepare, stage, and charge customer vehicles in advance of their scheduled delivery appointment.”

The opening of a Delivery Center would be a welcomed addition in Nova Scotia. Last year Tesla ended home deliveries in areas without a physical Tesla location, meaning new owners have to make a 10+ hour drive to Quebec to pick up their car.

So far this is the only job posted for the region, but we will keep a close eye on any further developments, including any signs of a location that has been secured by Tesla.

The initial job postings last year were published at the same time as those in other new markets like Saskatoon and Winnipeg. Since then only Tesla Saskatoon has become a reality after it opened in January this year.
