EVgo announced a new deal with Tesla to deploy 500-m kW Tesla Superchargers across its US charging network starting this Fall.
The deal, completed under Tesla’s Supercharger for Business program, will see EVgo own the chargers and set pricing, while Tesla will be responsible for operations and maintenance.
The Tesla Superchargers are capable of 500 kW charging speeds and 1,000 volts, which makes them perfect for Tesla’s and the growing number of vehicles that are operating on 800-volt architecture.
The chargers will come equipped with Tesla’s Magic Dock system, which will allow both CCS- and NACS-equipped vehicles to charge.
EVgo did not confirm the exact number of chargers it is buying, nor did it confirm where the rollout would start. However, on their website, they note that they plan to install hundreds of Superchargers nationwide.
It is expected that the first chargers, wherever they may be, will go live by the end of 2026.
As the Superchargers come online, they will be added to Tesla’s infrastructure, both in-car and on the app, as well as the EVgo site and app. EVgo is one of the largest charging networks in the United States, with 1,200 fast charging locations across 47 states.
