Elon Musk meets with the Biden Administration in DC

Elon Musk met with a pair of top aides to President Joe Biden on Friday to discuss EVs and electrification.

The White House did confirm that Musk did not meet with the President during his visit to Washington.

Musk and Biden have not had the best relationship and are often at odds on things such as unionized workers.

Per the Globe and Mail, Musk met Mitch Landrieu and John Podesta at Tesla’s office in downtown Washington.

Landrieu is in charge of infrastructure funding for the Biden Administration. While Podesta is the lead on Biden’s climate and clean energy initiatives.

The discussions touched on how infrastructure and climate legislation signed into law can help move electrification forward.

While also chatting about rebates and tax credits to move people off of fossil fuel appliances and vehicles.

The White House did not confirm the specifics of the meeting.

However, a meeting with top aides for Tesla does signal the Administration understands and acknowledges the importance of Tesla in achieving its electrification goals.
