Best Western To Add Tesla Chargers at Hotels Across North America

Best Western Hotels is joining forces with Tesla to introduce electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at select hotels throughout North America, with plans for international expansion starting in 2024.

The partnership involves the deployment of Tesla’s Universal Wall Connectors, first unveiled in August, which are capable of charging any brand of electric vehicle with either a built-in J1772 adaptor or NACS connector. To support the addition of the EV chargers, guests will be able filter hotel results on Best Western’s website to identify hotel locations equipped with Tesla charging stations.

“This collaboration with Tesla underscores BWH Hotels’ unwavering commitment to sustainability and dedication to delivering exceptional guest experiences. As the hospitality industry evolves, we will continue to blend eco-conscious initiatives with the service, value and comfort that guests expect from BWH Hotels,” said Michael Morton, Vice President Brand Management and Member Services at BWH Hotels. While the exact number of charging stations and participating hotels has not been disclosed, Best Western’s move follows a similar commitment by the Hilton Group. In September Hilton said it would install up to 20,000 Tesla chargers at 2,000 hotels in the USA, Canada, and Mexico by early 2024, aiming to create the largest overnight electric vehicle charging network in the hospitality industry.
