Tesla delivers first Model S Plaid with new features

Tesla has delivered the first Model S Plaid with the new Martix LED headlights, taillights, charge port, and new badging to a lucky new owner in California.

The delivery took place on Sunday in Fremont, with Jacob Baltazar sharing photos of his new car on the Tesla Model S Plaid & Long Range Facebook group.

But the most interesting photo was of the new charge port design. We have previously seen images of the larger charge port door closed, but this is the first time we have seen it open, and it shows just how much bigger it is than the previous version.

All that extra space was added to accommodate a native CCS2 charge port for markets outside North America where CCS is the standard.

From the photo we can also see the LED ring around the port has been removed.

This should be the first of many deliveries to take place this week, but not all will have the new features. Several car carriers were spotted leaving Fremont over the weekend filled with both versions of the flagship sedan.
