Tesla Model 3 wins UK Car of the Year

Earlier this month the Tesla Model 3 was named the #1 luxury car in Canada, handily beating the perennial winners the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes Benz C-Class.

Now the accolades for the Model 3 continue, as it was just named the UK Car of the Year for 2020, beating out last year’s winner, the Jaguar i-Pace.

The trend of electric vehicles (EV’s) rising to the top can be seen in these awards yet again. Three category wins in the UK Car of the Year awards went to EV’s, and Car of the Year has now been won by an EV two years running.

Not only that, all three of the top spots for Car of the Year went to EV’s, with the Kia Niro finishing in second just one point behind the Model 3. The Porsche Taycan rounded out the top three.

The full list of award winners is below.
