Tesla dominates Consumer Reports survey on the ‘most satisfying’ car across all age groups

If you think Tesla vehicles only appeal to the ‘younger’ generation, especially because of all the technology in the vehicle, the latest survey from Consumer Reports proves otherwise.

The survey asked owners if they would buy their car again, which forms the ‘owner satisfaction score’. They also asked owner to rate their car in five categories – driving experience, comfort, value, styling, and audio controls (that last one is kind of weird).

Consumer Reports broke up the respondents based on their age, with categories for Millenials, Generation X, Baby Boomers, and the ‘Silent Generation’. If you haven’t heard that term before, that’s for people who were born between 1925 and 1945.

The overwhelming favourite was the Tesla Model 3, taking first place across in all age groups. The Model S also placed second for Generation X, fourth for Baby Boomers, and third for the Silent Generation.

Not be left out, the Model X appropriately placed fourth among Gen X’ers. Tesla was also the only electric vehicle to make any of the top 10 lists, although the hybrid Toyota Prius V did appear on the list for the Silent Generation.

The results of the survey show the broad appeal of Tesla vehicles, even among the oldest drivers who you think would be scared of the technology.

It also shows that once you drive and own a Tesla vehicle, the chances of you becoming a Tesla lifer are very high, as all other cars pale in comparison to the experience of driving a Tesla.

They also back-up the results of an earlier survey by Consumer Reports, which showed that Tesla owners are the most satisfied of any car owner.
