Elon Musk drives around Giga Texas in latest Cybertruck prototype, calls it “awesome”

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has again been driving the Cybertruck around Giga Texas, except this time it was in the Alpha prototype.

The Cybertruck arrived in Austin on Sunday, and has been sitting inside the factory for employees to get an up-close look at the latest design.

Unfortunately Musk didn’t share any photos or videos of his latest outing, but according to a tweet, it is “awesome.”

This message is stirring up more speculation that we will get to see the latest design and learn more about new features that have been added at the earnings call later this afternoon.

Some of the new features that have been spotted recently include the massive wiper, swipe to open doors, driver instrument cluster display, and more.

However, the earnings calls do not include video, and the waiting room for today’s call still says it will an “Audio only conference webcast.”

Even if there is no video, we should definitely be learning more about Tesla’s plans for the Cybertruck during Musk’s product roadmap update.

According to the most recent update from the automaker, production was set to begin later this year, but recent rumours have said that date has been pushed back until early 2023.

We also reported yesterday that the Cybertruck’s 8,000 ton Giga Press is rumoured to start operating next month.
