It didn’t take long for a German court on Thursday to reject an application from an environmentalist group that earlier this week temporarily halted tree-clearing at the site of Tesla’s future Gigafactory Berlin.
The decision, which according to Reuters is final and cannot be appealed, paves the way for Tesla to continue their efforts to prepare the site in Brandenburg for construction of the massive factory. It is believed the tree clearing at the site will be complete in as little as 3 days.
Last year Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced plans to build the next Gigafactory in Berlin, Germany. The plans call for production to begin Giga Berlin in 2021, which at first will manufacture the Model Y. Tesla hopes to achieve a production rate of 10,000 units per week, and eventually expand to other product lines.
