Most Tesla Supercharger stations visited? Over 1,600 according to this unofficial competition among owners

If you think you have been to a lot of Tesla Supercharger stations, think again. The current unofficial title holder for most Supercharger station visits has plugged in at more than 1,600 stations in North America and beyond.

The well-travelled Tesla owner who holds that title is TMC forum member PLUS EV, having visited 1,639 Supercharger stations over the span of almost six years.

Among some of his accomplishments, the Supercharger enthusiast has visited a station in all lower 48 states, and in 2022 alone has already upped his total by 234 stations.

Even with the extremely high number of stations visited, he is not alone in his quest as several other owners have also made their way to over 1,000 Supercharger stations, according to a spreadsheet tracking everyone’s totals.

The next closest competitor ‘Bighorn’ has been to an equally impressive 1,512 Superchargers since he started tracking his visits in March 2014.

Showing his commitment to the game, instead of travelling 1,800 miles from his home in Wyoming to Washington, DC to attend his daughter’s graduate school commencement ceremony, Bighorn took the long way and spent 15 days travelling 10,000 miles (16,000km) and stopping at more than 80 Superchargers along the way.

This drive to visit every Supercharger station has even lead to an annual gathering of “competitors” in Custer, South Dakota, where Elon Musk nearly ran out of charge during a cross-country trip in 2014, according to the Wall Street Journal.

There is no prize awarded to the leader, other than bragging rights, and the competition will likely never end since Tesla is constantly building more Supercharger stations. According to the automaker’s Q1 2022 report, 248 stations were added in the first three months of the year alone.
