Tesla has made a small but notable change to its presence on X, renaming its Tesla AI account to Tesla Super Intelligence, just days after Elon Musk confirmed plans to rename SpaceXAI to SpaceXSI.
The account, previously known as TeslaAI (@TeslaAI), now uses the handle @TeslaSI and displays “Tesla Super Intelligence” as its name.
The update follows Musk’s comments on October 4, when he confirmed that SpaceXAI would be renamed SpaceXSI, replacing “AI” with “SI,” short for “Super Intelligence.”
At the time, Musk replied to a user asking about the proposed change, saying, “Yes, we will make that change.” He later added in a separate post, “No more AI.”
As for why Tesla beat SpaceXAI to the punch? That may simply come down to the complexity of changing a company name compared to updating an X account. A corporate name change can involve legal filings and other administrative steps, while changing an account’s display name and handle is relatively straightforward.

Why the change from AI to SI?
The new terminology follows an executive order signed by U.S. President Donald Trump on September 29, directing federal agencies to use “Super Intelligence” instead of “Artificial Intelligence” in official communications where permitted by law.
SpaceXAI itself only received its current name in July, following SpaceX’s acquisition of xAI in February. The company introduced the SpaceXAI branding and a new logo just three months ago.
For now, Tesla’s account appears to be the first to adopt the new Super Intelligence naming convention, while the more significant SpaceXAI rebrand remains pending.
