What Car? announces contenders for inaugural Electric Car Awards

What Car? is the UK’s biggest car buying guide that has been around for more than 45 years. Earlier this year they awarded the Tesla Model 3 the title of #1 “Large Electric Vehicle” in their annual Car of the Year Awards.

With the recent rise in popularity of electric vehicles, What Car? will be hosting their first Electric Car Awards, to name the best electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles on the market.

As expected, Tesla vehicles make several appearances among the contenders, with the Model S, Model 3, and Model X all up for awards in several categories.

The best electric cars will be named in the following categories: Value car, Small car, Family car, Family SUV, Luxury SUV, Executive car, Performance car and Seven-seater.

The best plug-in hybrids will be named in these categories: Family car, Small SUV, Large SUV, Luxury SUV, Estate car, Executive car, Performance car and Seven-seater.
