Volvo Trucks designates the first 2 EV dealerships in Canada

Volvo Trucks North America has designated their first two Volvo Trucks certified EV dealers in Canada in Québec.

The two dealerships are Camions Volvo Montréal and Pare Centre du Camion in Lévis, Québec, just across the St. Lawrence River from Québec City.

To receive the designation, both the sales and service teams of the dealership had to complete Volvo Trucks’ training program.

The training program ensures the team can support the commercial deployments of Class 8 VNR battery-electric trucks in the region.

In addition, dealership certification allows technicians to have the proper technical training to deal with the Volvo electric drivetrain and the safety procedures.

The accreditation also included new vehicle diagnostic tools investments and required the dealership to maintain parts and components for the new trucks.

Pare Centre du Camion trained and certified three technicians to perform maintenance and repairs on Volvo electric trucks.

In comparison, Camions Volvo Montréal has 30 technicians trained and one specialist who is now an internal training resource for other technicians.

In addition, Pare Centre de Camion is installing an electric truck charger. At the same time, the Montréal dealership is investing in a mobile EV charging unit for its six truck bays.

Volvo Trucks has over 430 dealers. Many have already expressed an interest in being certified on the VNR Electric series of trucks.
