Government of Canada investing $495,000 to raise awareness about ZEVs in Newfoundland and Labrador

The Government of Canada is investing $495,000 into two organizations to raise awareness on zero-emission vehicles in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Funded through Natural Resources Canada’s Zero-Emission Vehicle Awareness Initiative, Drive Electric NL will receive $295,000 to establish an Electric Vehicle Resource Centre.

Visitors to the Centre will be able to test drive an EV, and attend information sessions on making the switch to electric.

The Centre will also serve as a home base for a travelling road show which will offer in-person information sessions across the province.

Additionally, takeCHARGE will be receiving $200,000 to establish outreach and education campaigns to raise awareness and knowledge about EVs.

The project will also provide EV demonstration events to educate the public about EV range, charging infrastructure, and total cost of ownership.
