Tesla Superchargers in Ottawa have re-opened after COVID-19 forced shutdown of parking garage

When the coronavirus pandemic hit Canada in mid-March, one of the unexpected impacts of the many shutdowns in Ottawa was the closure of the parking garage at Rideau Centre, which is home to the city’s only Tesla Supercharger.

The closure left Tesla owners in the area without a Supercharger, despite pleas to the owner of the mall, Cadillac Fairview, to reopen the parking garage.

Now three months later, Rideau Centre finally reopened its doors on Friday, June 12, which also means Tesla owners can now access the Superchargers.

The station features 8 72kW Urban Superchargers, and is located on the P3 level of the parking garage of CF Rideau Centre at 50 Rideau St, Ottawa. Additional parking fees apply while charging.
