Tesla appears to be laying the groundwork for a significant expansion of its Robotaxi infrastructure in Arizona, with new filings pointing to dedicated Supercharging stations in the Phoenix East Valley that won’t be open to the public.
Recenty submitted documents uncovered by Supercharger watcher Marco on X reveal Tesla is planning to install a large bank of V4 Superchargers at an industrial site in Chandler, marking what could become one of the company’s first purpose-built charging depots for its autonomous ride-hailing fleet.
According to the application, the project calls for 56 V4 stalls on a parcel along South Roosevelt Avenue. Notably, the filing specifies the chargers are intended for private use only, a strong indication they are being designed to support Tesla’s Robotaxi operations rather than general EV drivers.

On the same day the Chandler plans were submitted, Tesla also filed early-stage documents for a second location in nearby Mesa.
The Mesa project, listed under “Private Tesla Charging – Mesa, E Main St,” is also described as a non-public installation. While the exact number of stalls has not yet been disclosed, site plans show a sizable footprint with space allocated for charging infrastructure, electrical equipment, and vehicle staging. The location, at 5349 E Main Street, sits in an industrial corridor on the east side of the city—another area well-suited for fleet-based operations.
Taken together, the two projects suggest Tesla is moving quickly to establish a network of dedicated charging depots in the Phoenix metro area, likely in preparation for scaling its Robotaxi service. The plans indicate these sites would be restricted to private use, designed to support the company’s own fleet operations, where factors such as availability, efficiency, and vehicle turnaround are key considerations.
