Tesla Q3 2020 earnings call to take place October 21

Tesla has announced it will post its financial results for the third quarter of 2020 on Wednesday, October 21.

The automaker revealed its preliminary production and delivery numbers last week, in the process setting a record for both numbers. During the three month period from July to September, Tesla manufactured a record 145,036 vehicles and delivered a record-smashing 139,300 vehicles worldwide.

Breaking down those numbers further, the vast majority of those deliveries were the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y (124,100), while the Model S and Model X accounted for 15,200.

While the usual updated delivery and production numbers are expected, along with detailed financial results, there are usually a number of surprise announcements during the earnings calls. During the company’s Q2 2020 call, CEO Elon Musk revealed Austin, Texas as the location of the next Gigafactory.

There have been rumours swirling for a few months now that the Model 3 will be seeing a significant refresh. Some if not all of those changes may already be in production (the factory chrome delete already is), so it wouldn’t be surprising if Musk officially announces them on the 21st.

One thing I’m hoping for is an announcement that the RWD Model Y will be coming out soon.
