Tesla has opened its first Superchargers to non-Tesla electric vehicles in Singapore, expanding access to its charging network as the automaker continues to grow its presence in the country.
According to Tesla’s official location listing, the Dunearn Village Supercharger features four charging stalls delivering up to 250kW, with 24-hour access for Tesla vehicles and other compatible EVs.
The charging station, located at a shopping mall in Singapore’s Bukit Timah area, began operating in early October, making it the country’s first Tesla charging location accessible to other brands. (via The Straits Times)
As with pricing for non-Tesla drivers in other markets, they will pay higher charging rates. Depending on the time of day, prices range from S$0.63 (C$0.69) to S$0.91 (C$1.00) per kilowatt-hour (kWh).
Tesla owners, meanwhile, pay between S$0.47 (C$0.51) and S$0.67 (C$0.73) per kWh.
Despite opening the Dunearn Village location to other brands, Tesla’s remaining 18 charging sites in Singapore continue to serve Tesla vehicles exclusively.
Tesla did not comment when asked whether it planned to extend non-Tesla charging access to those locations.
To use the Superchargers, non-Tesla drivers must have a vehicle equipped with a Combined Charging System Type 2 (CCS2) charging port and download the Tesla app.
Through the app, drivers select “Charge Your EV,” locate the station, add a payment method, and choose their charging stall before starting a session.
Tesla explains that its higher non-Tesla pricing accounts for the additional costs of supporting different vehicles and adapting charging locations. Congestion fees also apply to non-Tesla drivers.
The expansion follows similar Supercharger access programs in other markets, including Canada, where compatible non-Tesla EVs can already use participating stations.
