Tesla has officially opened its newest Supercharger station in New Brunswick, adding eight V4 charging stalls in Moncton.
The new station is located at 50 Granite Drive at the Granite Centre, just off the Trans-Canada Highway. Construction on the site began last year, and it becomes Tesla’s seventh Supercharger location in New Brunswick.
According to Tesla’s website, the new Moncton station features eight V4 Supercharger posts capable of delivering charging speeds of up to 325kW to compatible EVs. The site is also available to compatible non-Tesla EVs using a NACS adapter.
Unlike Superchargers in the rest of Canada, which charge by the kilowatt hour (kWh), the Moncton station currently uses time-based pricing due to provincial utility regulations that only allows utility companies to resell electricity by volume.
For Tesla owners, pricing ranges from $0.35 per minute when charging between 0-60kW to $1.85 per minute when charging above 180kW. Non-Tesla EVs pay higher rates, ranging from $0.50 per minute to $2.60 per minute.
With Moncton now online, Tesla has seven Supercharger locations across New Brunswick, joining existing stations in Aulac, Lincoln, Quispamsis, Saint-Léonard, Salisbury and Woodstock.
That number will soon grow to eight with the recent addition of Fredericton, which started construction this month at Regent Mall.
