Tesla may be expanding into Cambodia as logo appears on former Nissan dealership

Despite no publicly announced plans to expand into Cambodia, it appears Tesla may be doing just that. Renovations are currently underway on a former Nissan dealership and workers recently adorned the building with Tesla’s logo.

A photo of the building was posted to the Tesla Cambodia Facebook page, along with a map showing its location being just outside Phnom Penh. (h/t: Tesla Club India)

According to Tesla’s careers page, there are no current job postings for the country, indicating Tesla themselves might not be behind the new venture. It is possible the store could be run by a third party, similar to a recent store opening in Romania called Teslounge.

Located in Bucharest, that company sells, leases, and rents out all of Tesla’s vehicles, but has no direct affiliation with the automaker. Instead it purchases the vehicles from out of country and imports them for the end-consumer.

The biggest difference is that store does not have the official Tesla logo on it.
