Tesla has reached another major production milestone at Giga Shanghai. On Tuesday the company announced the factory has produced its six millionth battery pack, less than a year after reaching the five million mark.
Tesla Asia announced the milestone on Tuesday, sharing an image of employees celebrating alongside the six millionth pack.

The milestone comes just 279 days after Tesla produced its five millionth battery pack on November 12, 2025. That equates to roughly 1.3 million battery packs per year, or an average of around 3,580 packs per day over that period.
Battery packs produced at Giga Shanghai support production of the Model 3 and Model Y. The facility supplies both the domestic Chinese market and numerous export markets, once again including Canada as of earlier this year, but only with the Model 3.
The battery milestone comes during another strong year for the factory. Giga Shanghai delivered more than 561,000 vehicles during the first seven months of 2026, both domestically and in other markets, an increase of nearly 30% compared with the same period last year.
Giga Shanghai also celebrated another milestone earlier this year with the factory surpassing 5 million drive units built since it opened in 2019.
