Tesla is expanding its Full Self-Driving (FSD) ride-along program in Europe, with Switzerland becoming the latest country where the public can experience the technology on local roads.
The company will officially start offering its first FSD ride-alongs in Switzerland this Thursday, August 13. The Swiss expansion comes after the launch of similar programs in France late last year, followed by Germany, Italy, Hungary, and several other European countries.
Unlike Tesla’s familiar FSD demo drives in North America, customers won’t be getting behind the wheel. Instead, a Tesla employee will remain in the driver’s seat while customers experience FSD from the passenger seat.
“Be among the first to experience FSD (Supervised) from the passenger seat. Our team will show how FSD (Supervised) works in real road conditions. See how it handles live traffic and supports the most stressful parts of driving, helping make the roads safer for you and others,” Tesla says on its website.
According to Tesla’s event listings, the Swiss ride-alongs will be offered in several locations, including Cham, Bern, Buchs-Aarau, Zürich, and Bussigny, with events currently scheduled through September 30.

Tesla continues its European FSD push
The expansion comes as Tesla continues making regulatory progress toward releasing FSD to customers across Europe.
The Netherlands became the first European country to approve FSD in April, following more than a year of work between Tesla and Dutch vehicle authority RDW. That approval was quickly followed by Lithuania and Estonia in May, before Denmark and Belgium gave their approvals in June.
That brings the total to five European countries that have approved the system, with broader availability remaining dependent on the European regulatory process.
The new ride-alongs are another way for Tesla to build awareness FSD as well as a set of compelling safety data while that process continues. They also give Europeans who have so far only been able to watch FSD videos online an opportunity to see firsthand how the latest software handles their own roads.
