Tesla is offering free Supercharging at three locations in Florida following Hurricane Isaias, giving owners affected by the storm a way to recharge without paying while recovery efforts continue.
In an announcement on Monday, the official Tesla Charging account on X confirmed that free charging will be available from October 13 through October 18, 2026, at Supercharger stations in Gulf Breeze, Destin, and Pensacola.
The three locations are along Florida’s Panhandle, an area impacted by the hurricane as it moved across the Gulf Coast late last week.
The company also provided some encouraging news about its charging infrastructure, confirming earlier Monday that all Supercharger stations within the storm’s path remain operational.
That means owners travelling through affected areas should still have access to Tesla’s fast-charging network, although drivers are encouraged to check live stall availability through their vehicle’s touchscreen or the Tesla app before arriving.
Tesla prepared for potential charging disruptions
The free charging announcement follows preparations Tesla outlined last Thursday, when it urged owners in the hurricane’s path to charge their vehicles to 100% before the storm arrived.
Tesla also confirmed it was prepared to deploy mobile Superchargers powered by Megapacks if widespread power outages left permanent charging stations unavailable.
These temporary charging units can operate independently of the local electrical grid, providing an alternative when conventional charging infrastructure is disrupted.
Fortunately, Tesla’s latest update suggests those deployments have not been necessary, with the company reporting that its Supercharger network remains operational throughout the affected region. Although they may still be used for additional capacity.
Tesla has offered free Supercharging during previous natural disasters, using its charging network to support owners dealing with evacuations, power outages, and recovery efforts.
