Tesla has begun rolling out its latest Full Self-Driving (Supervised) update, but while v14.3 is now in the hands of early access testers, a major anticipated breakthrough has been pushed to a future release.
Tesla released FSD v14.3 to early access users this week, bringingimprovements to reaction times, neural network training, and handling of complex driving scenarios. However, for months, there had been growing expectations that Tesla’s next major leap—its so-called “10× model,” a significantly larger neural network—would debut as part of the v14 series.
Musk has previously described it as a major milestone, going as far as to say it would make the vehicle feel “almost sentient.” However, this architectural leap will make its debut in the next major version.
According to comments from Elon Musk on Wednesday, the large model will now arrive with FSD v15. The upgraded system is expected to feature a dramatically larger parameter count, enabling improved reasoning, better handling of edge cases, and more human-like driving decisions.
The reason for the delay, according to Musk, is that the current “small model” has advanced quicker than they were anticipating, and the “large model has not yet caught up.”

V15 will be the large model.
Despite the confirmation that v15 will carry the new model, there is still no clear timeline for when that update will be released. Given Tesla’s track record with FSD timelines, even if he were to have provided one, meeting it would be another story.
