Tesla brings credit based referral program to Europe

Tesla has expanded their revamped referral program to Europe, giving owners in the region the opportunity to once again earn credits and shop for rewards for referring customers who end up purchasing a vehicle.

The expansion of the program was officially announced by the Tesla Europe Twitter account on Monday, with owners reporting the appearance of the Loot Box Credits in their mobile app without the need for an update.

Much like when the program relaunched in the US last year, existing owners can earn 2,000 credits when your referral purchases a Model S, Model 3, Model X, or Model Y. Those credits can then be used to purchase Tesla merchandise or accessories, software upgrades like Acceleration Boost (9,500 credits), or like the previous referral program free Supercharging, but this time in varying amounts.

Tesla is also offering an end of quarter incentive where you can earn an additional 5,000 credits if you take delivery before March 31, 2023, according to a message posted on the referral the website.

This new credit-based referral program is now available in the US, China, and Europe.

Unfortunately there is still no sign of the referral program returning to Canada, even though our friends south of the border have had access to it since November last year. When tapping on the Loot Box in the mobile app in Canada you still see the same message that was posted when the referral program ended in September 2021.

While there is no referral program in Canada (yet), buyers of a Model S or Model X who take delivery before the end of the month will receive 10,000km of free Supercharging. This offer is also available in the US where buyers will receive 10,000 miles of free Supercharging.
