Musk did not specify where it will be located, or the time it will take place.
Last year the inaugural AI Day was also held on August 19 at the company’s then headquarters of Palo Alto, California. The event started at 5:00pm PST, and was livestreamed on Tesla’s official website.
Like last year, the event will showcase the company’s latest advancements in AI, and serve as a recruitment tool. In a follow up tweet, Musk said the purpose of the event is to “convince great AI/software/chip talent to join Tesla.”

In 2021 Musk and Andrej Karpathy, Sr. Director of AI at Tesla, talked about Full Self-Driving, revealed the Dojo supercomputer, and also the Tesla Bot, now more commonly referred to as Optimus.
Karpathy is currently on sabbatical, but expected to be back at Tesla in time for the event.
According to information received by Drive Tesla, a working prototype of Optimus was shown to select VIPs at the Cyber Rodeo at Giga Texas in April, so it would not be surprising to see a demonstration on stage in August.
