Kia’s newest entry-level electric vehicle (EV) for Canada has received its official range figures, as the 2027 Kia EV3 now appears in Natural Resources Canada’s (NRCan) fuel consumption guide ahead of its arrival later this year.
The EV3 was unveiled for Canada in April as Kia’s third affordable EV, joining the EV4 sedan and EV5 SUV. Kia says the model is aimed at buyers looking for an accessible entry point into EV ownership while still offering many of the features found in its larger EVs.
According to NRCan, the entry-level EV3 Light, equipped with a 58.3 kWh battery pack, is rated for 356 km (221 miles) of range on a full charge.
Stepping up to the larger 81.4 kWh battery significantly increases driving distance. The Wind, Land, GT-Line and GT-Line Limited trims are all rated at 517 km (321 miles) of range, making the EV3 one of the longest range EVs in its size and price class.
A performance-oriented GT variant is also planned, but its official Canadian range estimate has not yet been published.
NRCan uses the same methodology as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Beyond its range, the EV3 rides on Kia’s 400-volt E-GMP platform and supports DC fast charging from 10% to 80% in as little as 29 to 31 minutes depending on the battery pack. The SUV also features a native NACS charging port, vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, nearly 30 inches of combined dashboard displays, and an available all-wheel drive (AWD) configuration on larger battery models.
Kia Canada has not yet announced pricing for the EV3, but the company has said it will be one of its most affordable EVs, and so should come in a little over $30,000. Its big brother, the EV4, currently starts at $38,995, while the larger EV5 begins at $43,495.
Official Canadian pricing for the 2027 Kia EV3 is expected soon, ahead of the EV3’s debut later this fall.
