SAS Scandinavian Airlines has completed the installation of SpaceX’s Starlink internet service across its entire Airbus A320neo fleet, wrapping up the rollout just six months after it began.
All 81 of the airline’s A320neo aircraft are now equipped with Starlink, making the A320neo the first aircraft type in the SAS fleet to have the satellite internet service installed across every aircraft.
That works out to an average of roughly one Starlink installation every two days.
The milestone also means Starlink is now available on a significant portion of SAS flights. The A320neo fleet accounts for roughly 70% of the airline’s aircraft and serves as the backbone of its European network, operating extensively across Scandinavia and the rest of Europe.
After announcing a deal with SpaceX in January, SAS began introducing Starlink in March, with installations carried out while maintaining normal flight operations. Each aircraft was temporarily taken out of service for the installation before undergoing testing and approval and returning to scheduled flights.
SAS isn’t stopping with the A320neo. The airline says preparations are underway to bring Starlink to its remaining aircraft types, with additional installations scheduled before the end of 2026.
