Rivian starts R1T Max Pack deliveries and expands availability to R1S

Rivian has started deliveries of the Max Pack for the R1T, and made the Max Pack available for the R1S on the online configurator.

Initially, Rivian launched its R1T and R1S models with battery options of 105 and 135 kilowatt-hours, offering up to a maximum of 314 miles (505km) of range for the R1T. The larger 180-kWh Max Pack was on the horizon, but production delays held it back. However, the wait is over, as Rivian has officially started deliveries of the Max Pack-equipped R1T, and has made the option available on the online configurator for the R1S in both Canada and the US.

The Max Pack boosts the R1T’s estimated range to 410 miles (660km), with the R1S not far behind at 400 miles (643km). The Max Pack is available for both base and performance dual-motor drivetrains, but unfortunately not the quad-motor option.

Interestingly, the Max Pack comes with a price tag of $16,000 over the base battery in the US. In Canada however the Max Pack adds $10,000 to the price, as seen in this screenshot shared with Drive Tesla by one of our readers. We have reached out to Rivian for clarification but have not heard back by the time of publication.

While the Max Pack is now available to order on the R1S, R1T reservation holders have started taking delivery. Facebook user Sean Momsen reported taking home his R1T Max Pack this week, sharing pictures of the electric truck along with the display screen showing his configuration.
