Rivian offering free R1T or R1S Stealth PPF wraps during factory shutdown

Rivian has launched a new offer while the company’s manufacturing facility is shut down for retooling, giving new buyers the opportunity to claim a free Stealth paint protection film (PPF) wrap on their R1T or R1S worth US$5,000.

According to a post Rivian on X, the free XPEL Stealth PPF wrap is available on select vehicles and colours through the month of April. Since the company is no longer accepting custom orders while the factory is shut down, the offer also only applies on vehicles in existing inventory.

A review of the Rivian Shop shows that the free Stealth wrap is available on a large number of R1T and R1S vehicles in the US, but unfortunately none that we could find in Canada.

Vehicles eligible for the offer are denoted with a “STEALTH Paint Protection” label on the listing.

A Stealth PPF wrap is designed to protect a vehicle’s paint from scratches, chips, and other forms of damage that can occur from road debris, minor collisions, and environmental factors. Unlike traditional glossy PPF wraps, a stealth PPF wrap has a matte finish, giving the car a unique, satin-like appearance.

As we mentioned, this PPF offer is being made while the Rivian’s factory in Normal, Illinois is shut down for retooling. The shutdown began on April 5 and is expected to last until April 30, during which time the production lines will be upgraded to accommodate new battery packs and other internal upgrades to the R1T and R1S to simplify production and reduce costs.
