NIO ET5 validation prototypes roll off the assembly line

NIO shared images of validation prototypes of the ET5 sedan rolling off their line in Hefei this week.

The company plans to launch the ET5 in China this fall and may include the vehicle in a broader global launch later on.

The ET5 is the second sedan from NIO. In December, the company officially revealed the ET5 on NIO day and started taking Chinese orders in January.

The NIO ET5 can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.3 seconds. As well, it has an estimated range of 550 km + on the 75 kWh standard battery.

At the same time, the long-range 100 kWh battery range is 700 km.

Finally, the ultra-long-range 150 kWh battery gives the ET5 a 1000 km wage.

The latest update on the ET5 included more information on NIO’s European expansion to Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands.

NIO recently became a member of the Danish Car Importers Association, and NIO confirmed they would soon be selling its EVs in Denmark.

However, NIO did not confirm what models would be sold into the northern European countries. Many suspect NIO will include at least one of their SUVs along with the ET5 as part of the launch, but NIO continues to be tight-lipped on their expansion plans.
