Rivian has finally started deliveries of its R1T and R1S electric vehicles in Canada, delivering the first units to employees in Vancouver last week.
The automaker is planning to start public deliveries before the end of the year, and to support those new owners Rivian has given us a look inside their first international service center in Richmond, British Columbia.
The Rivian service center is located across the road from the Richmond Automall in a newly renovated 16,000 square foot space in building 4 at 13551 Commerce Parkway.
The service area features six vehicle lifts, each one equipped with a Rivian Level 2 charger, and a large storage area for parts and accessories.
The expansive service area even features a two-bay indoor wash and detail area.
Owners waiting to drop off and pick up their R1 vehicles can wait in the customer lounge area that borrows design cues from the Rivian Hub in Venice, California.
Rivian’s Vancouver service center isn’t quite ready to be opened to the public as the automaker tells us they are still waiting to receive their final permits from the City of Richmond, but those are expected to be issued soon.
This is obviously just the first of many Canadian service centers for Rivian, as the company plans to expand and begin deliveries in Alberta, Ontario and Quebec next year.
We already know Rivian is planning to set up their Alberta service center in a nearly 20,000 square foot building in southeast Calgary.
