LG Energy Solutions is planning to open an Arizona battery plant

According to multiple sources, LG Energy Solutions plans to build a cylindrical battery factory in Queen Creek, Arizona.

The reporting coming from Reuters note that the factory will produce cylindrical battery cells for EVs, electric scooters and household electronics including electronic cigarettes.

As per the sources, the battery plant will produce EV batteries for Lucid and Proterra. At the same time, other sources noted that the company would also produce batteries for Phillip Morris for their e-cigarettes.

According to Yahoo Finance, the battery factory will be in Queen Creek, Arizona, with an 11 GWh capacity. As per the same source, construction will begin in the coming months, and mass production should start in 2024.

The new plant will include a state-of-the-art smart factory. That includes remote support, logistic automation and manufacturing intelligence.

It was a big news day for LG Energy Solutions.

Earlier today, the company announced the location of their joint venture EV battery plant with Stellantis in Windsor, Ontario

None of LG Energy Solutions, Proterra, Lucid or Phillip Morris commented or confirmed the story.
