Lemonade Cuts Tesla FSD Insurance Costs by 50% in Tennessee

New York-based Lemonade has brought its new insurance package, which purportedly costs significantly less for Tesla Full Self-Driving (FSD) subscribers, to Tennessee. The company promises premiums will drop as the ADAS improves.

Tennessee has become the fifth state where American insurer Lemonade is offering the Autonomous Car package. The company claims FSD is twice as safe; therefore, subscribers should spend 50 percent less on insurance for every FSD mile driven.

Lemonade also claims the more Tesla owners drive with FSD, the less they pay. The company will charge a low base rate when the car is parked.

Features include medical and repair costs coverage in case of a car crash. Lemonade also provides roadside assistance when customers are stranded on the road, including sending a mobile charging station. The package covers fire, weather, and vandalism damage.

The coverage also includes repairs to damage to the windshield, moonroofs, and more. Lemonade will also pay for legal costs when drivers are sued for liability. In case of theft, Autonomous Car ensures customers get a new replacement car.

Lemonade previously launched Autonomous Car in Arizona, Oregon, Indiana, and Colorado. The package can be bundled with renter, pet, and home insurance. Customers can file claims from within the Lemonade app.

Prices start at $30 per month.

Tesla has its own in-house insurance program that rewards FSD users with lower premiums.
