BMW Group has handed over its two-millionth fully electric vehicle (EV). The 2 millionth EV comes more than a decade after the automaker’s first EV, the BMW i3, went on sale in late 2013.
Since then, the BMW Group has delivered approximately 3.5 million electrified vehicles worldwide when plug-in hybrids are included. Much of that volume has come in recent years, and in the first half of 2026, more than one in every four vehicles BMW sold globally was electrified.
BMW’s two-millionth battery electric vehicle (BEV) was an i5 M60 xDrive built at the company’s Dingolfing factory in Germany and delivered to a customer in Spain.
“Selling two million BEVs underlines how BMW and MINI models are winning over customers worldwide. In Europe, the positive development has continued since the market launch of the BMW iX3, and we will soon be reaching the milestone of 100,000 new orders. This shows the tremendous importance of the Neue Klasse for the ongoing ramp-up of electromobility at the BMW Group,” said Jochen Goller, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for Customer, Brands, Sales.
More recently, BMW’s EV growth has been getting a boost from the Neue Klasse platform and the new iX3. BMW says nearly one-third of its EV orders in Europe have been for the iX3 since its debut.
The Neue Klasse expansion is only getting started. BMW began series production of the new i3 at its Munich factory in August, with the automaker reporting strong early demand ahead of its market launch.
As we previously reported, the Neue Klasse iX3 is also headed to Canada, with official pricing starting at $75,900 and NRCan range of up to 698 km, and fall 2026 deliveries planned from BMW’s Debrecen plant in Hungary.
