Hertz Tesla rentals in Canada to launch in select markets in Q1 2022 [Update]

Travelers to and within Canada will soon have access to a fleet of Tesla Model 3 rentals as Hertz plans to bring the electric sedan to select Canadian markets early next year.

In a statement to Drive Tesla, Hertz confirmed it intends to launch the electric vehicle (EV) rentals in Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal in the first quarter of 2021.

That will be followed with expansions to other markets later in the year.

We checked the Hertz reservation website to see how much Canadian Model 3 rentals will cost, but the company has yet to update their website to include the EV.

We have asked for information on when they will be available to make reservations and will update this article when we receive a response.

UPDATE 10:58am PST: Hertz says more information on pricing and availability will be made at a later date.

Customers in the United States can already book a Model 3, and the daily rates are competitive with cars in similar categories.

The Model 3s are part of an initial purchase of 100,000 Teslas announced by Hertz earlier this week. The news sent TSLA share prices soaring to over $1,000, giving the automaker a market capitalization of over $1 trillion.
