Tesla Solar Roof: 12kW installation completed in one day [Video]

The time it takes to install a Tesla Solar Roof is getting shorter and shorter. The latest project by Weddle and Sons Roofing was done in just over 12 hours, obliterating their previous best of four days for a similar sized house.

In a time lapse video posted to their YouTube channel, we get to see a house in Loveland, Colorado undergo the transformation. According to the video description, this project involved installing a 3,000 square foot (30 square) 12kW Tesla Solar Roof.

The team got an early start beginning work at 6:30am. The removal of the old roof and the application of the Tesla-branded underlayment were completed the week before to allow for the required mid-roof inspection by local authorities.

A crew of 8 workers worked on the roof, supported by 3 more workers on the ground to help with moving and providing supplies. When all was said and done, the final piece was installed at 6:45pm, just 12 hours and 15 minutes after they first began.

The quick work by this team beat their previous best. Two months ago they shared another time lapse video of a 4,000 square foot (40 square) Tesla Solar Roof installation that took four days.
