Tesla partners with Alset EHomes to install solar panels, Powerwalls, and chargers in new homes

Alset EHomes has announced a strategic agreement with Tesla for the supply of solar panels, Powerwalls, and electric vehicle (EV) chargers. The equipment will be installed in single family homes at a new development in Texas.

The agreement will initially cover 20 brand new homes at the Northpark Community in Porter, Texas. The company also has another 10 homes that will be added to the deal towards the end of the month.

AlSet says it is targeting to have 100 homes outfitted with the Tesla equipment by the end of 2021. While it is a relatively small number of homes to begin with, it could grow to thousands in the next few years.

“Our plan is to develop over 5,000 intelligently designed Ehomes in the next 3-5 years. We are excited to develop the communities of the future in close collaboration with Tesla. Tesla’s products are not only technologically superior but also aesthetically pleasing. In addition to our rollout in the US, we plan to expand our concept on a global scale,” stated Mr. Chan Heng Fai, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Alset EHome International Inc.

Not only will the homes include Tesla technology, they will also come with a Tesla vehicle included in the purchase price. No details were provided on which model will be provided.

Along with the green technology in the homes, the community as a whole will also be environmentally conscious.

“The community will integrate a clean energy ecosystem encompassing housing, transport, and electricity; it will include an amenity center featuring organic, modular/vertical vegetable farming, a café, visitor residences, infant/childcare clubs, and social events venue.”
