Just as quickly as the number of Tesla owners in China grows, the company is expanding its Supercharger network.
During the month of October the automaker added 43 new Supercharger stations across the country, or on average 1.4 new stations every day during the 31 day month.
Tesla continues to rapidly expand Supercharger network in China, adding 40 stations in August
According to a post on Tesla’s WeChat channel, the 43 new Superchargers added a total of 174 stalls in 31 cities, including Shanghai, Chongqing, Nanjing and Chengdu.
Along with the new Superchargers, Tesla also grew its Destination Charger network, adding 10 new stations with 28 connectors in October.
This brings the total number of Supercharger in China to more than 1,300 with more than 9,500 connectors.
Their Destination Charging network now sits at more than 1,900 connectors across more than 700 stations.
Tesla has no plans of slowing down, explaining in the post they expect to add new Superchargers in November in 26 more cities, including in Beijing, Xi’an, Tangshan, Dalian, Wuxi, Nanjing, Taizhou and more. (via CNEvPost)
All of these new Superchargers are being built at Tesla’s Supercharger factory in Shanghai. Giga Shanghai is often thought of as Tesla’s only factory in China, but their Supercharger factory opened last year and has a capacity to build 10,000 V3 Superchargers every year.
