Two electric vehicle (EV) chargers have been vandalized and damaged at the North Surrey Sport & Ice Complex in Surrey, British Columbia.
The recreation center has one charging station with two stalls operated on the FLO network. Sometime in the last week both charging cables were severed just inches away from the pedestal.
The thieves even took the J-1772 charging connectors, as seen in the images below sent to us by a Drive Tesla reader.
Like other previous incidents where charging cables were cut, the thieves likely did this for the copper inside the cables. Although it’s not likely to get them much money, probably only between $10 to $20.
The amount of money needed to repair the damage will be much more than that, likely costing several thousand dollars.
