Audi unveiled their Q4 e-tron electric crossover this morning, along with a sleeker Q4 e-tron Sportback edition.
The Q4 e-tron is born from Audi’s first foray into the world of EVs, with the e-tron introduced in 2019 and later with the e-tron Sportback and GT. It is also borrows heavily from Audi’s sister brand, Volkswagen, with the electric crossover built on the same MEB modular platform as the VW ID.4.
Q4 e-tron Specs
The Q4 e-tron will come in three different trim options – 35, 40, and 50.
The base 35 model is equipped with a 52kWh battery paired with a single electric motor at the rear wheels. It will produce 167 horsepower and 228 lb-ft of torque, and you’ll be able to travel over 200 miles (321km) on a full charge.
The 40 and 50 models both come with 77kWh battery packs, with the top of the line model coming with dual electric motors (295hp, 339lb-ft) instead of a single rear motor for the 40 (201hp, 228 lb-ft).
The RWD Q4 40 e-tron will get over 323 miles (520km) on a full charge. The AWD 50 variant will get just under that amount, while reaching 60mph in 6.2 seconds.
All range estimates are based on the WLTP standard, which sis more generous than the US EPA ratings.
The interior is what you would expect from Audi, but it will include a brand new augmented reality head-up display. The system can display information on the windshield in two different sections, with one displaying real-time navigation prompts. It can also highlight important road markings, or even cars in front of you that are obscured from the naked eye by fog.
Q4 e-tron Price
In Germany, prices start at EUR 41,900 ($62.830 CAD) for the Q4 35 e-tron. The Q4 40 e-tron starts at EUR 47,500 ($71,220 CAD) and the Q4 50 e-tron quattro starts at EUR 52,900 ($79,325 CAD). The Sportback will be around EUR 2,000 ($3,000 CAD) more.
