Tesla Adds 29 More Cybercabs, Expanding Texas Robotaxi Fleet to 1,080

Tesla has added another 29 Cybercabs to its Texas Robotaxi fleet, just hours after Cybercabs overtook Model Ys in the company’s growing fleet of autonomous vehicles.

According to the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) registry, Tesla now has 1,080 registered Robotaxis in the state, including 573 Cybercabs and 507 Model Ys.

The update came just hours after Tesla registered 81 Cybercabs earlier Tuesday, bringing its fleet to 1,051 vehicles and putting Cybercabs ahead of Model Ys.

With the latest registrations, Cybercabs now account for approximately 53% of Tesla’s registered Robotaxi fleet in Texas, while Model Ys make up the remaining 47%.

Meanwhile, Tesla has registered 222 additional Cybercabs over the past week alone, showing how quickly the company has been adding vehicles to its registry.

However, the registration figures do not necessarily reflect the number of vehicles currently operating in Tesla’s Robotaxi service, as registered vehicles are not necessarily deployed. However, what appeared to be hundreds were in use over the weekend while the Formula 1 Grand Prix was taking place at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin.

The growing number of Cybercabs comes as Tesla has confirmed Cybercab production is already outpacing Robotaxi deployments, and the Cybercab production line is sometimes turned off to avoid building excess inventory.
