Ivy Charging Network is expanding its Highway 401 charging network with two new ONroute locations and upgrades at three existing sites, building on its previously announced charging improvements across Ontario.

According to Ivy’s Network Updates page, construction is underway at ONroute Newcastle and Ingersoll, with both locations expected to begin operating by early Q1 2027.

Each location will feature three high-speed charging units, allowing up to six electric vehicles (EVs) to charge simultaneously, along with tap payment capabilities.

At the same time, Ivy is preparing to upgrade three existing ONroute locations in eastern Ontario, including Bainsville, Ingleside and Morrisburg, with construction expected to begin soon.

These upgrades are scheduled to be completed by Q1 2027 and will introduce next-generation fast chargers designed to increase charging capacity, improve reliability and support compatibility with more vehicles.

The latest expansion follows a larger upgrade program that Ivy completed in late 2025, which saw charging equipment replaced at 11 ONroute service centres across Ontario.

Those upgrades included locations in King City, Innisfil, Cambridge, Trenton, Port Hope, Mallorytown, Odessa and Napanee, increasing capacity from four to six charging ports at each site.

The upgraded stations also introduced dual-port chargers with dynamic power sharing, along with CCS, NACS/Tesla and CHAdeMO connectors to accommodate different EV models.

Beyond the physical upgrades, Ivy is introducing additional customer support features, including a new Help Centre, live chat assistance through Zoe and self-service troubleshooting resources.

Ivy, which is wholly owned by Hydro One, has operated since 2019 and currently maintains more than 270 fast and destination charging points across the province.
