Anthropic has revealed agreements worth up to US$120.5 billion (C$168.6 billion) for AI computing capacity from SpaceX, following SpaceX’s recently reported US$40 billion GPU financing.
According to an S-1 registration statement filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Monday, Anthropic entered into several agreements with SpaceX.AI LLC between May and October 2026.
The filing reveals that Anthropic has agreed to spend up to US$120.5 billion (C$168.6 billion) under contracts extending into 2029.
Once all contracted capacity has been delivered, Anthropic’s spending under the agreements is expected to total approximately US$3.1 billion (C$4.3 billion). The company expects all capacity to be delivered in December 2026.
However, the filing makes clear that payments will vary during the initial capacity ramp-up periods, rather than immediately reaching the full monthly amount.
The agreements also include cancellation provisions. Following initial non-cancelable periods ending in January 2027 and March 2027, either party can cancel each agreement with 90 days’ advance written notice.
The SpaceX arrangements form part of Anthropic’s broader strategy to secure computing infrastructure for its artificial intelligence models. Its strategic partnership with NVIDIA and arrangements with Microsoft, Nscale, Lambda, and other cloud providers also provide access to NVIDIA GPUs.
It is worth noting the SpaceXAI contracts include termination rights following their initial non-cancelable periods, with the overall spending commitment extending into 2029.
