Mitsubishi’s new electric crossover will make its Canadian debut in November. Ahead of the launch, the automaker has announced a starting price of $48,998, and a warranty that few EVs in its class can match.

Mitsubishi backs the Eclipse Sportback with five years of unlimited-kilometre roadside assistance and a five-year/100,000 km new vehicle warranty, while the powertrain and battery are covered for 10 years or 160,000 km.

The 2027 Eclipse Sportback also marks Mitsubishi’s return to battery electric vehicles (BEVs) in Canada. Mitsubishi has committed to rolling out at least one all-new or heavily reworked model annually through 2030 as part of its Momentum 2030 plan, and the Eclipse Sportback kicks that effort off.

As we previously reported, the Eclipse Sportback is essentially Mitsubishi’s version of the redesigned Nissan LEAF, developed through the growing partnership between the two Japanese automakers. The two EVs share a 75 kWh battery, and Mitsubishi rates its version for up to 454 km of range.

Shoppers weighing the two will find Nissan’s 75 kWh LEAF S+ is the better deal on paper. Priced from $45,198, it undercuts the Mitsubishi by $3,800 while stretching its estimated range to 488 km, or 34 km further.

Home and Level 2 charging run through a J1772 port, while fast charging, including at Tesla Superchargers, uses a built-in NACS port. Dealers will also offer a CCS adapter.

Adding the Technology Package raises the price to $54,098, though Mitsubishi hasn’t said what it includes.

For Canadian buyers, the base model’s price matters most. At $48,998, it slips under the $50,000 cap for the federal Electric Vehicle Affordability Program (EVAP), qualifying for the full $5,000 rebate in 2026. Quebec buyers can stack a provincial rebate of up to $2,000 on top.
